Biblioteca Vivent

What is it?

Biblioteca vivent is an initiative that consists of “books” that are people. Like a regular library, the Biblioteca vivent has a catalog and a description of books and a “reader” who can consult “books” on a topic in which you are interested in knowing more. All living books are volunteers who have an interesting personal experience on a subject.

With the Biblioteca vivent in Sarrià Sant Gervasi in 2021, the aim was to create a safe space for dialogue where issues are openly debated between living books and their readers.
The Biblioteca vivent is a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered. The objective is to promote the diversity of migratory stories and at the same time reveal the inequalities they reflect and the discriminations migrants suffer.
