The day after their arrival in Barcelona, the group of young Germans took part in a guided tour of the city center to get to know and adapt to their new environment. We started the tour in Plaza Catalunya and continued along Las Ramblas, making a stop at the Canaletas fountain to learn about the famous tradition of drinking from its waters, a symbol of the return to the city. The route continued to the Gothic Quarter, where we visited the Cathedral of Barcelona and ended at the mural “El Beso” made in commemoration of the tercentenary of the events of 1714 in Barcelona from 4,000 images selected by the photographer Joan Fontcuberta.
In addition, we had an activity in Park Güell, allowing participants to enjoy the creativity and learn about Gaudí’s unique architecture. The cycle of activities closed with a final meeting at La Base, a cultural center in the neighborhood that leads numerous cultural and economic initiatives, uniting the community around values of cooperation and local development.
