During the first week of February we welcomed the first group of young people of the year through the Erasmus+ host programme in collaboration with the Maison de l’Europe de Nîmes.
The group, made up of 10 participants from France, was selected after an interview and assessment process carried out by the International Mobility team.
At Nexes, we always look for the right balance between previous experiences and the professional and personal aspirations of the young people. In this group, many participants expressed their interest in developing in the sports sector, but, as always, diversity was present. Thanks to the collaboration of different companies, the young people were able to carry out internships in a variety of environments, such as food cooperatives, catering companies and nursery schools.
In addition to the professional experience, we also organised socio-cultural activities for the group. On arrival, we took them on a tour of the centre of Barcelona to show them its key points and most emblematic places. We also visited the Sagrada Familia and, during the final evaluation meeting, we proposed The Change, a board game on transformative economies that encouraged reflection and debate on the theme of sustainability and global challenges.
An experience abroad not only boosts the professional development of these young people, but also challenges them to step out of their comfort zone, facing a new language and a culture shock that broadens their horizons and enriches their personal growth. At the same time, for Nexes and its team, each new group represents a challenge, but also a valuable opportunity to improve, innovate and strengthen our collaborative network. With each experience, we continue to learn, grow and reaffirm our commitment to international mobility that transforms lives.
