Hello everyone,
I’m Camille, and since February, I have been doing a European Solidarity Corps program at Nexes Interculturals.
Having recently finished my studies, I find myself at a stage in life where the future feels a bit uncertain. I’ve always promised myself not to settle for a comfortable life that doesn’t truly make me happy, but instead to actively seek experiences that challenge me and help me grow. I see this volunteer program as a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful and authentic commitment.
I did a master’s degree in which I studied topics such as international solidarity, gender, inclusion, the environment, and citizen participation.
These studies have allowed me to question and rethink the current concept of development and international cooperation, focusing on more contextual and local approaches. I firmly believe in the importance of active participation in projects, a core value in Nexes’ work.
As I hope you do, I personally believe in utopia. For me, believing in utopia is having the conviction that changes are possible, even if they sometimes seem distant. It is a motivation that drives me to contribute my little bit to make a difference, even if it is small.
I have been working with Nexes for a month, and from the very beginning, I have really liked all the projects and the dedication of the entire team. I am very happy to be able to collaborate and work as a project assistant in the Culture of Peace and Global Justice area. I want to learn and contribute to non-formal education, human rights and intercultural initiatives.
