We are launching a new course on Migrantour Barcelona, full of excitement and new challenges. We have a training on the 3rd generation of intercultural guides: people with a migrant background, motivated to explain their journey of migration, their culture, fight against racism and the construction of new narratives. On November 15th we will continue growing and consolidating the team of intercultural guides. We have started at full capacity, with the approval of the Impulsem program of the Barcelona City Council and entering the Antirumors Catalogue. At the same time we have been able to participate in the Welcome Day of the UB, in the Tourism and ESS Intercooperation Day and the Barcelona Community Day. However, the most important aspect remains the effect that the tours cause both with the participants as well as with the guides, which is why we would like to share a couple of quotes we caught during the tours from the past couple of weeks: “I didn’t know Raval, but I think it’s a beautiful neighborhood”. “I wasn’t so aware of the impact of migration on the social economy.”. “At first sight we cannot explain everything we have learned about Raval and migrants in BCN. Their stories are very rich, and I think it is beautiful, despite the obstacles they struggle every day.”. To those who have not taken part of the Migrantour Barcelona, we encourage you to live in first person! You can write to migrantourbarcelona@gmail.com Initiative carried out within the project “Migrantour, the invisible wealth of the city” with the support of Barcelona Activa and Barcelona City Council.
