Code 3b6i: Human Rights in action glocally

Code 3b6i is designed to increase the citizen recognition of 6 initiatives for the defense and promotion of Human Rights in 3 different neighborhoods: Poble Sec, Besòs-Maresme and Sant Gervasi-Galvany.

The project proposes and accompanies in this challenge 30 young people from 3 different High Schools, promoting that they are agents of social transformation and to present those 6 initiatives in their High Schools and the citizens of the own district.

In this process, young people will learn about Human Rights by connecting their global dimension with the local reality, analyzing differences and similarities between neighborhoods in the way of protecting and guaranteeing different Human Rights. Also, stereotypes and prejudices will be questioned related to the neighborhood of origin, as well as gender, sexual orientation, religion and other categories included in the intersectional approach.

"3b6i" is a code that refers to 3 Neighborhoods and 6 Initiatives

This is what this project proposes: to bring together young people from 3 different neighborhoods, Poble Sec, Besòs – Maresme and Sant Gervasi-Galvany, to work experientially on stereotypes and prejudices that exist according to the neighborhood of origin, as well as gender, sexual orientation and other categories included in the intersectional approach.

The 6 Initiatives mentioned...

are projects of defense and / or promotion of the Human Rights carried out by organizations of the own district that the young people will know and will make a diffusion campaign to the citizenship.

The epilogue to the title "Human Rights in action glocally"

Emphasizes the global-local connection: young people will learn about Human Rights from a global perspective, also from the local situation in their own neighborhood, and connect the two dimensions by becoming aware of their state in different neighborhoods of Barcelona.
